After bringing an egg home before the timer ends, hatch it into a pet and compare its role in your progression with the pets you already have. Ride the pet on the treadmill to train its speed. When faster movement would help you reach better eggs or continue toward later biomes, keep training before shifting your attention back to exploration.

- Hatch and train
Hatch the egg into a pet, then ride that pet on the treadmill. Training is the direct way described for making a pet faster.
- Choose the next target
Use the trained pet when deciding whether to continue exploring the current biome or work toward a new one. Better eggs appear as you explore the game’s biomes, from Forest toward the Ruins.
