Step by stepClimb the Ice Wall with deliberate hold choices
The Ice Wall reaches 1000 studs, so treat each move as a climbing decision rather than a continuous sprint. Choose a reachable hold, use your own hands and feet to progress, and watch for the slipping conditions created by wet weather before committing to the next move.
- Set your next hold
Use LMB to grab the hold you intend to take, then use Q, E, Z, or C to select the limb that should make the move. Continue only when that placement leaves you ready for the next reachable hold.
- Protect a risky section
When a fall would undo meaningful progress, press F to drill a piton before continuing. The rope can catch you after a fall, so use the piton as part of your decision about whether the next stretch is worth attempting.
- React to slipping conditions
Wind, fog, rain, and blizzards can make wet holds slip. Slow your sequence when visibility or grip becomes unreliable, and use RMB to undo a move when the current placement is no longer the one you want.
- Resume after a catch
If the rope catches a fall, assess the position before climbing again. X unclips the rope, while SPACE lets go; choose between staying secured and releasing only after the next move is clear.
