Step by step

Check a passenger before clearing them to board

Your job is to distinguish innocent passengers from anomalies without sending the innocent away. Treat identity, luggage and anatomy as separate checks: a normal-looking passenger can still require closer inspection. These are the game's screening mechanics, not features of the utility build.

  1. Compare identity

    Check the passenger's ID and photo. If something appears inconsistent, treat that passenger as a suspect rather than clearing them on appearance alone.

  2. Inspect luggage and anatomy

    X-ray luggage for contraband, then use the body scan to look for missing limbs or a wrong skeleton. Keep those checks distinct: a bag inspection does not replace an anatomy check.

  3. Investigate suspicious signs

    Watch the cameras for details your eyes miss. Interrogate suspects using the available lie detector, brain scan, eye exam or fingerprint test before making your boarding decision.

  4. Make the boarding decision

    Deny passengers who seem off while taking care not to reject innocent people. Letting a nonhuman passenger through creates a threat to you: it will hunt you instead of boarding.

Does survival depend on watching a health bar?

There is no health bar. Getting too scared makes you crash out, and the experience includes jumpscares and loud sounds. Consider that horror format before starting a shift; headphones are recommended by the game.

Can I work the night shift with friends?

You can play solo or with up to four friends. Tasers can affect coworkers as well as monsters, so pay attention to whom you target when playing together.
